Permanent holiday lighting

Permanent Holiday Lights for Every Holiday of the Year

One install. Christmas, Hanukkah, Halloween, the Fourth of July, game day, and warm white every other night. You change the colors from your phone.

A different box of lights for every holiday

Red and green for December. Orange for October. Red, white and blue for July. Each one is another box in the garage and another afternoon on a ladder.

In Florida that afternoon is often hot, and the lights rarely hang straight. Then they come down, get tangled into a bin, and half a strand is out next year.

Permanent lights fix that. We install them once along your rooflines. After that, every holiday is just a new set of colors, picked on your phone. No ladder, no bins, no guessing which strand still works.

How changing colors works

  • Pick the colors in the app. Any color, any mix. Your phone is the remote.
  • Schedule it ahead. Set Hanukkah, the Fourth or game day once, and the house switches on its own that night.
  • Light different parts differently. The system runs in zones, so the front gable can do one thing and the garage another.
  • Go back to warm white. When the holiday ends, so do the colors. One tap.

Our guide to color-changing house lights covers the app in more detail, and the permanent architectural lighting page covers the install itself.

Warm white the other 300 nights

The holidays get the attention, but most nights the system does something quieter. It traces the house in a soft warm white from dusk until bedtime. That is the look most people live with, and it is why the house looks finished in March, not just in December.

The colors are an occasion, not the everyday. Used that way, a house in deep orange for Halloween or blue and white for Hanukkah looks planned, not loud. If you are worried about that, our guide on whether permanent lights look tacky is worth a read.

Questions about holiday colors

Can I change the colors myself?

Yes. Color, brightness and timing all run from an app on your phone. You can change the look in a few taps, or schedule it ahead so the house switches on its own the night a holiday starts and goes back to warm white when it ends.

Do I have to change it for every holiday?

No. Most homes run warm white almost every night of the year, and that is what the system is built around. The holiday colors are there when you want them. Use two holidays a year or twenty, it is the same system either way.

Can it do my team colors?

Yes. Bucs red and pewter, Lightning blue, Rays navy and light blue, Gators orange and blue. If your team has colors, the lights can show them, and you can set them for game day only. See game day lights.

Can traditional Christmas lights do this?

No. Our traditional C9 holiday lights are a fixed color, chosen at install: warm white, cool white or multicolor. Changing colors from your phone, any night of the year, is only the permanent system.

What does the house look like during the day?

Like a house. The lights sit in a slim track that is color-matched to your trim, so by day it is very hard to spot. Nothing to put up before a holiday and nothing to take down after.

Will my HOA allow colored lights?

It depends on your HOA. Many rules are written about how long seasonal lights stay up, and a permanent system that runs warm white most of the year reads differently from a strand left up in March. Our HOA guide covers what boards usually ask and how to get it approved. See the HOA guide.
