After Dark Guide

Roofline Lighting for Florida Homes: Permanent, Hidden, App-Controlled

Roofline lighting traces the edges and peaks of your home so its shape reads after dark. Done permanently, it replaces the yearly strand-hanging.

Roofline lighting follows the lines of your home, the eaves, the gables, the peaks, so that after dark the architecture reads as a clean, lit silhouette instead of a dark mass. It is the look people associate with a tastefully decorated home at Christmas, except a permanent system gives you that crisp outline every night of the year, in any color, without anyone touching a ladder.

Outlining the home, not draping it

The difference between roofline lighting and a string of holiday lights is precision. Clip-on strands sag between attachment points and follow the gutter in a loose, wavy line. A permanent system runs the LEDs inside a rigid, color-matched track fastened along the fascia and peaks, so the light traces the actual geometry of the roof in a clean, even line. Every point is evenly spaced, every run is straight, and the whole thing is tuned to your home rather than cut from a one-size strand.

By day, the track sits flush against the trim and effectively vanishes. By night, you control the whole outline from an app: a warm white for everyday curb appeal, full color for the holidays, your team colors on game day. It is the Permanent Architectural Lighting system, and it pairs naturally with landscape lighting below the roofline to light the whole property as one scene.

Built for Florida roofs

Florida rooflines bring two things a permanent system has to respect: the climate and the roof itself. We never penetrate shingles or tile, we fasten and seal to the fascia and soffit, so there is no new path for water and nothing added to the roof field itself. The hardware is hardwired, low-voltage, and rated for the heat, humidity, and storms that peel adhesive kits off a house within a season. On the tile and stucco homes common across Pasco and Pinellas, a warm outline along the roofline is one of the highest-impact upgrades you can make to a home’s nighttime presence.

If you have spent years hanging and removing holiday strands, the permanent version is the same beautiful outline with none of the labor. The guide on being tired of holiday lights every year walks through that trade in full.

Common questions

Can roofline lighting stay on year-round, or just for the holidays? Year-round. Most homeowners run a soft warm white nightly for curb appeal and safety, then switch to holiday or game-day colors whenever they like. Nothing comes down between seasons.

Will the track be visible from the street during the day? No. It tucks against your fascia and trim and reads as part of the roofline. The light is the only thing you notice, and only after dark.

How is this different from soffit lighting? Roofline lighting traces the edges and peaks of the roof; soffit lighting tucks into the underside of the overhang. Many homes look best with a combination, which we sort out in the design.
